1882 Teagown - Embroidered Scarlet Taffeta

Patterns: Truly Victorian #432 Tea Gown, flat back version (no Watteau pleats). Walking length
Fabric: Polyester taffeta, heavily embroidered with rayon thread. 

In hindsight, I think my mistake with this one were many fold. First, the fabric is just too busy with nothing to break it up; not exactly suitable for a one piece garment like this. Perhaps a solid tone belt would fix that? 

Also, the walking length with no train turns it into kind of 'meh' shape. The lace on the neckline is an antique collar. Further down you can see the crazy paisley cotton lining I used. I am a huge fan of surprising linings ;) lol
