I altered one of the Truly Victorian Romantic era patterns to make this dress. I copied the design of the front bodice from a fashion plate. In the original I believe the closure was actually at the front with hooks and eyes, though the front of mine just has the illusion of a front closure. There are functioning buttons at the back. I did this for several reasons, the greatest of which being that I hate hooks and eyes and find them dreadfully messy and ill sitting.
